GridKey collaboration secures Power Generation and Transmission Award and Energy Environmental Award

Sentec and Selex ES are pleased to announce that GridKey has won both the Power Generation and Transmission and the Energy Environmental categories at the Rushlight Awards.

Designed to provide a low cost, accurate monitoring solution to allow Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to have visibility of their LV network, GridKey was recognised by the judges for several innovative features, including the speed and ease of installation and the quality and variety of data it provides. This will allow DNOs to make evidence based decisions, maximise the use of the existing network, minimising the need for reinforcement to support the incorporation of low carbon technologies into the grid.

The first of its kind, GridKey can be retrofitted without interruption for customers and helps reduce network maintenance costs and prevent unplanned outages.

GridKey has been trialled with five of the six DNOs in the UK and with two European DNOs.

We are pleased to win the Power Generation and Transmission category, but to also scoop the overall Environmental Management Award really reinforces the great work the team has done,

To ensure the solution is ideally suited to customer requirements, GridKey was developed in close collaboration with UK DNOs and we’re proud to know that this approach has paid off.
